Be Well – And Be Transformed! is a weekend retreat for high school youth and adult youth leaders. Participants will have the opportunity to delve deeper into themselves and into holistic living aligned with Wesleyan concepts of personal and social holiness, accompanied by hands-on skills training on substance abuse, addiction and recovery.
Sponsored by HadEnough, a United Methodist youth and young adult movement addressing substance abuse and addiction recovery, the retreat will take place from July 12-13 at the Rolling Ridge Retreat and Conference Center in North Andover, MA.
The retreat theme focus is inspired by John 5:6, where Jesus questions the paralytic at the Sheep’s Gate:
“Do you want to be made well?”
During the two-day retreat, youth will:
• Experience personal testimonies from young adults in recovery
• Engage in contemplative practices to deepen both a personal and Christian sense of identity
• Explore possible responses to substance abuse/addiction
Adult leaders will receive first responder training where they will identify signs of substance use and abuse, and develop skills in how to respond to difficult situations. For everyone, labyrinth walking, guided meditation, devotions, and other activities will be part of the weekend retreat.
Together, we can risk to be transformed!
