SPSARV Seeks Writers for New Resources Based on AA’s 12-Steps

In celebration of its 20th anniversary, SPSARV is inviting clergy and laypersons to contribute to new resources based on Alcohol Anonymous’ 12-Steps to inspire congregations to break the silence about substance abuse.

SPSARV plans to publish a sermon series and a bible study to help congregations to study and speak out about alcohol, chemical abuse and dependency and its related violence.

For the sermon series on the 12-Steps, clergy are encouraged to write a sermon on one of AA’s 12-Steps. Each sermon will feature a scripture and reflections and personal experiences from the contributor as it relates to the selected Step.

The bible study will enable congregational ministries and Sunday school classes to study each of the 12-Steps and have an honest discussion on the disease of addiction. Lay person contributors should select one of Alcoholic Anonymous’ 12-Steps for the bible study and create discussion questions for further study.
